I am in the process of rebuilding my rear diff. and I just wanted to share some of the info I have aquired, I searched this and other forums and really found nothing so this is for the little people! ..

Ring Gear Backlash: .006 of an inch
Carrier Bearing Pre-load: .010 of an inch

Torque Specs:
Pinion Gear: 45ft lbs
Bearing Caps: 150ft lbs

Pinion Depth: Unfortunatley to set the pinion depth properly the rear must be set-up then painted and run(the paint will show you how the gears are meshing and if there are any clearance issues), to check for proper mesh and anlignment. It takes some time, but the end result is a nice even running gear.

Just thought I should mention this information is incorrect. Not sure if it was you or someone else that added this to the official torque spec thread.

Rear diff bearing caps are 27 +-1 ft lbs
