Which turbo for my IX
Im in a bad situation. I just sold my DD to buy a kit for my IX. I have all the supporting mods I am just lost as to which one I should get. First off I do not want the evo green or any kit made by buschur. Nothing against either I just dont want them. I have pretty much narrowed it down to An AMS 50trim. AMS 35 with alky. Or i am really wanting the SLS borg warner s256 kit with alky but I havent heard any results on it. It is a great value at 3200 but I know that AMS's kits are by far the best as far as fitment etc etc. I just dont want to spend 4500 on a kit and can make the same power with a 3k kit. I want to make around 450 whp and maybe 500whp on alky. What should I go with?

Well i really want the SLS kit. but I HAVE searched and not seen anyone who has it yet. I would get the AMS but the GB is closed and I dont wanna spend 4500 on a kit right now.

Your best choice is the AMS or Shearer 50trim. 400+whp on pump, close to 500whp on meth/race gas. Your stock block and drivetrain should hold up pretty well at this power level if you treat it right, but anythings possible. A GT35R will lag you to death on the stock 2.0l especially w/o MIVEC, and your block would eventually give out at 550+WHP. Theres no solid info on the SLS kits, and they barely even respond to their own thread, which isnt a good sign. I would steer clear of them and save yourself the hassle and potential disaster. Bottomline: stick with the kits that have been proven time and time again, year after year and you wont be disappointed.
You said you don't want to spend $4500 when you could get the same performance for $3200 but thats what your doing. The buschur kits will make good power too. I think some people like their manifolds so they opt for their kits. Bottom line, you won't make more power on the ams kit to justify the extra $1300+ imo.
