how to tell what size turbo u have? help please

first off i bought my evo8 used.
today i was at the shop and the guys started asking if i did a turbo swap cause it looked bigger then stock evo8.
i texted the guy that sold me the car and he said that it was stock but some 8's had a lager housing(10.5) insted of the norm 9.8 it this true and is there anyway to check this like SN or some way with out taking out the turbo?
and if so how does the 10.5 comapre to the evo9 turbos. iam plaing to upgrade relly soon but dont know what to get.

if you have an 05 Evo, they came stock with the 10.5 turbine housing. You can't tell a difference from the outside when comparing to a 9.8 turbine housing.

I dont think 10hp is right.

I dont think you gain more horsepower, but you however are able to run more boost than a 9.8 hotside. It allows you to run more boost. So i guess, if you turn up the boost you gain horsepower

you actually gain more horsepower at the same boost level by removing the exhaust restriction the 9.8 causes.

It's been proven time and time again.
