just picked up a br500bb turbo kit on ebay with pics

i just picked up a buschur br500bb turbo kit on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5970137&rd=1,1

i got it for $1220picked up. the turbo has no shaft play at all and everything looks great. but i just have afew questions
exactely what turbo is this gt3076r? gt3071r? what size ar exhaust and compressor housing is this? whos makes this turbo?? gaterrt? precision? turbonetics? how come i can never find any info about buschur turbos?. what size is the internal wg spring set at?? how much power can i expet on 21-22psi on pump gas with this turbo and the mods i have in my sig? how much can this make on race gas? what kind of turbine inlet flange is it???? i know its not a common t3 flange. its a strange round style flange.

all in all i think i got a good deal even though i know this kit was replaced with the newer external wg setup.

looks like a 3" intake on the compressor side of the turbo, must be an old 3076

What you have there is a 3076r (but not a true 76r, on a true 76r you would have a 4" intake on the compressor if I remember right) with a .48 turbine housing made by Precision Turbo. The best thing to do is upgrade the turbine to the new BR turbine and external waste-gate. On the .48 turbine I have run 11.50's @110 letting of the gas around 1000' to keep from going faster then 11.49, if I walked off the line and then got on it the best MPH was around 124. You have a pretty good turbo there but the .48 turbine will limit your max boost to about 26psi. I had a lot of passes on that turbo and pretty much had it maxed out at 26psi, any more boost did nothing.

Yea, way small. With a the bigger turbine from BR it spools faster and makes good power to 29-30 psi. The turbine that is on that kit is so restrictive the larger turbine will spool faster. I was hitting 20 psi 4500 rpm, not all that great. I have some boost logs somewhere let me see if I can find them.
