Ams 23rr & E85
I dropped in some E85 in my car and did a back to back test to 93octane pump gas.
My setup included our GT30R kit, our VSR intake manifold, our 23RR test engine at 9.5:1 compression, AEM EMS, GSC 280 cams, & touched up head.
Fuel system was 1000cc and now switched to 1600's. Stock fuel tank with a drop in walbro feeding a new surge tank setup we're about to release. The surge tank feeds the fuel rails with an inline 255lph walbro.
The best the car has done on 93 oct pump gas is 468whp SAE and 360ish torque at 22psi. A little more conservative for every day driving it makes 450whp at 350ish torque at 21psi. IDC is around 80% on 1000's with 11.2-11.4 A/F's. I never thought it would make these #'s considering the GT30R turbo but I was very impressed.
Last night I switched the injectors to 1600's and drained the 93oct out of it and put in 10 gallons of E85. I changed nothing but the gas and dialed in the A/F's. I wound up running about mid 11's on the gas A/F gauge and it made a few more ponies and a little more torque than the 93 octane and it did spool quicker. I think it made about 5-8whp more with nothing else being different. I tried to go over 12:1 A/F's but it really didn't pick up any power.
E85 VS. 93oct, no changes to boost or ignition timing

Next I dumped in about 3-4 degrees more timing and it made a huge difference. Power went to 485whp and torque to 385.

I spent the next hour so playing with timing and A/F's and wound up maxing the setup out at 515whp and 429ft-lbs of torque. Boost was 24psi and A/F again in the high 11's. Again I tried to lean it out to low 12's and it made no difference on the dyno. The GT30R is pretty much maxed out at this power level. I tried 25-26psi and it made more torque but power and boost dropped at higher rpm's. Power delivery is amazing on this setup. Full spool at 3600-3800 on the street and it pulls all the way to 8500RPM!!

I did notice that I can run about the same timing I do on MS109 roughly, but nowhere near C16 values. Plugs come out looking super clean.
Next mod is a GT35R and I'll see what I can pull out of it. I'm guessing about 550-575whp. I don't think I'll be able to run over 30psi with any decent amount of timing from what I saw tonight. I'll have to check our winter blend here to see what %alky is in it.
I'll link some dyno sheets later today. Oh, and I still hate 1600's for driveability even with E85. Too low a pulsewidth and they don't open and you misfire. A tad more pulsewidth and you're running mid 13's. I'll throw an injector driver box on it which should help a bunch.

Wow thats awesome! We had the similar results with the E85. As soon as we put Meth to it we could advance our timing more than we do on c-16. We just ordered E98 and are going to run that as our full time gas.

You should get ahold of DB and get his double pumper fuel set up. Then maybe, just maybe you could use a smaller injector and not misfire

Im seeing great restults from people running E85 but cant find a link or thread on what is needed to switch to it...all Ive gathered is bigger injectors, multiple in tank/inline fuel pumps, and a tune.
what about fuel lines, seals, etc...are they compatible w/ E85 or is it necessary to change everything out so you dont run into problems down the road?
