F1 and prototype cars do all the time.

Basically with the money for materials and fabrication you would have hundreds more options to make significantly more power and/or lose wieght on an Evo.

Going to ridiculous expense to save a pond or two on a 4dr AWD sedan is questionable unless you just enjoy titanium sculpture and spending pointless money on your Evo. In which case it makes complete sense to me.

Heres the reason i ask. I am working with a engineer and racecar builder. We are going to come out with some exciting new products soon. We can build a ti manifold for about 200.00 more that a stainless one. Just guaging if there is any downsides to it.

we have to do some more research but we are trying to keep it under 1500 for the manifold. We are also trying to offer a full turbo kit with ti manifold, dump tube, and downpipe. We will also be coming up with a ti downpipe for stock turbo cars.

titanium is not good for above red heat ~650C. Above that it will start absorbing nitrogen, oxygen.....carbon from the exhaust gases -

To lose a bunch of weight off of the nose of the car by using a very light mani would be a nice advantage with regards to the polar moment but at $1500 there are many better ways to go to make more power and/or better handling.

we are trying to make a turbo kit using a ti manifold, downpipe, and piping. We can also offer ti intercooler piping for minimal cost above other ss ic pipes.
