If you have an HKS SSQV....READ it

THIS IS FOR THE PEOPLE THAT HAS THIS BLOW-OFF VALVE AND HAS STARTED TO HEAR IT KINDA WEIRD AND LOOSING BOOST CHECK THE VALVE FIRST ON THE INSIDE. OK... here's the story i was driving yesterday from L.A. to Victorville and i was on I-15 when suddenly i started to loose boost (i am boosting normally 23 psi) i was like ahhh it aint nothing its probably that i am going uphill..... so i went full throttle and yes it spiked 22 psi and just started to go down all the way to 14 psi so i am like wtf and i started to hear different the SSQV so i get to victorville and started to check the forums for somebody else with a similar problem.... no luck then i found out that i could make a boost leak test(http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html ) with simple home depot stuff, so when i decided to go to home depot my nephew saw that my blow off valve looked different on the inside like a broken gasket. then we started to unscrew the whole thing and yes it has like a gasket glued to a plastic retainer ( the plastic pulls the gasket to open the blow off valve )and it just unglued it self after 3 years of loyal service so i just took-it apart and krazy glued-it back together and now its working like brand new. I will post some pics tomorrow. for you guys that want to check it out. I hope i help somebody with this.

I just got rid of my HKS SSqv last month for the same reason of boost loss. My tuner told me that over time the diaphram weakens, and looses it's seal over time. The diaphram just wears out. I went to the Turbosmart Dual port instead and no more problems.
