No it wouldn't. And the VR4 didn't have a 4.11

I guess that sums it up.

97-2000 galant vr4. 2.5liter 6 cylinder turbo uses evo4 drivetrain. it may indeed have the 4.11 ring and pinion that would work in evo8/9 5 speed.

The manual 8th generation Galant VR4 has a 4.11- I did read that somewhere. I think that it might be swappable. (unfortunately not a US item)

Thanks for your worthless post in this thread.

First, that is what this "car forum" is for. Your not the brightest bulb in the bunch are you.

Second, It's the weekend and they aren't open right now. I need an answer NOW so I can get the ball rolling and make the purchase.

Guys, I was only told it was an RS tranny from a Galant GVR-4 and he said he originally had the 4.11 removed to go with a shorter gear. It does indeed have a 4.11 in it, but I don't know if it will work in an Evo. I emailed the guy to find out what year the vehicle is, but he hasn't emailed me back yet.

It would however swap in to the evo 1-3 though.
