Well your friends are partly right. 90% of the people on here saying the clutch sucks dont know how to drive a AWD car. The clutch is just fine and has proven to hold quite a bit of power reliabiliby if not driven like an idiot. Most people burn the clutch because of the restrictor pill in the clutch line because they are trying to be badass and launch a 6k everywhere. People would bi*ch if it wasnt in there because they would be breaking transfer cases so then everybody would say the transfer case is weak... get my point. The car is only as good as the person driving it. Some get 5k out of them, some get 50k. But believe me the stock clutch is far better than most cars and it sure the hell isnt the same as the 3g eclipse or regular lancer....thats just typical forum gossip

Sorry if I came across abrasive..I didnt mean you I just meant alot of people in general that think that evo's clutch's suck dont drive them totally correctly. I just hear too many people that think something sucks when it breaks if you know what I mean. The stock clutch does usually stink when launching it unless you are VERY good at it. That has to do with the restictor pill (delays engagement and slips clutch for you), if it were me I would take it out and watch your launches get better 10 fold without stinking (just have to be careful not to dump it)

yea its cool, i recall a girl who first got an evo in my area back in 03 and either she was launching the car wayyyy to much or she just didnt know how to drive it. long story short from what i was told she went through 4 stock clutches.
