I recommend taking the radiator out altogether to free up some space. Taking the radiator out of the car takes 5 minutes extra.

I tried the stud removal method and all it did was slightly move the studs out and them stripped them to hell. Luckily not on the head, just the spare hotside. Anyhow, I'm doing mine this Friday just like the OP.

go to a local auto parts store and just replace the studs with bolts.. its what i did and it makes life way easier re-installing the manifold/getting it off
