F-CON VPro from Buschur

i know buschur's price is 1395 and that includes tuning......however, i have heard you need additional sensors/wiring to get this to work. if true. then how much would buschur charge for the complete kit with everything necessary to get this running?

can you get rid of the MAS/convert to speed density with this? if so, will it still pass emissions if you do so?

can you have multiple maps stored and if so how do you change them?

why no knock monitoring? how big of a downfall is this? why didn't HKS combine their knock amp into one package with the VPro?

what is the navigator for? does it have any use for the VPro?

so you paid another 900 for the knock amp, plus 400 for the navigator.......basically over 3 grand for the entire system?

the VPro does have launch control?

does it work for the IX? does it control mivec?

The V-Pro does work for the IX, and does control Mivec.

It's a really nice EMS, I would prefer it over the AMS EMS, but unless your really close to a licensed tuner you cant change anything. Only HKS approved tuners are able to tune it, so make sure you have someone local who can take care of this for you. There is a list on HKSusa.com of all the registered tuners.

Cary,
Here is my 2 cents on the V-Pro...

Some things that you need to buy along with the $1395 for the V-Pro unit are...
Vehicle specific harness $240 (EVO8), $365 (Evo 9)
MAP sensor $225
IAT sensor $55
MAP/IAT sensor harness $40
Wideband (AEM UEGO will work with the V-Pro) $280

You can get the F-COn mix controller $190 that will allow you to switch between 4 different fuel and ignition maps.

Using the Knock - Amp you can plug a set of earphones in and hear the knock event of your engine. If all you need is the wideband than I would just go with a less expensive unit like the AEM.

The navigator pro allows you to view many of the sensor outputs for your car.

A wideband of some sort is needed so that the ECU can be run in closed loop. This is where the Knock Amp (or any other wideband) is useful. The navigator is useful if you WANT to keep track of many of the engine parameters, but is not needed. If you have the work done by a competant tuning you really do not need the navigator.

I could sell you a complete kit of all the parts needed, but you need to have an HKS Pro Dealer tune your car because they are the only people that can access the V-Pro software. Where are you located? I might be able to help you find a Pro Dealer that is local to you.
