03 Evo into 1st gen Talon TSI???

Will an 03 Evo VIII motor bolt right into a 1st gen Eagle Talon TSI?? What will have to be swapped if the motor bolts up? I bought an 1st gen Talon TSI but the motor for some reason jumps time so it hasn't been started. I'm either going to go threw the 1st gen 4g63 or swap it for a newer 4g63? Any suggestions? Anyone care to help?

Thanks

Do an EVO III motor. A newer one would cost way too much to get running right- we're talking at least $5000 plus.

It is completely backwards. An Evo III motor woudl bolt right in. Just do a 6-bolt Swap and you will be fine.

I wasnt sure if it would bolt in, i haven't seen both motors side by side. I just know there both a 4g63. So I would be better of building the motor i already have?

Any more info is greatly appreciated!

depending what year the 1g is 92 was the 6 bolt to 7 bolt swap

if you have a 7 bolt get a 6 bolt motor and build it

It will do you just fine there would be no point in doing a evo motor swap for the money and time it would take.

The just is

The motors are 180 from each other

Great example of the kind of people that make forums useless to a large degree.

First off, wtf would you want to use a evo 8 4g63t for? The 4g63 found in the 1g's, both turbo and non are considerably cheaper, with cores in junkyards usually in the $200-$400 range. Its not like its an expensive rebuild either since you have a damn motor in the car already. Its jumped time? How much? Did it trash the head? Done a leak down or a comp test? Do you even know what either of those are?

Get your dumbass to your local autozone and get a haynes manual and fix your gdamn car instead of wasting your time with rediculous fantasies about putting a motor in it that doesnt belong there.

Or if your the stereotypical cheapass dsmer, just look around and someone will ahve a service manual on CD iso laying around. Or try stangls website thats still an excellent source of education all these years later.. www.vfaq.com

Go look at the timing belt section and see if you can even get to a realistic starting point of figuring out what is wrong with your heap rather than wasting time on a forum.

Whoa Calm down sir.

But yes you can build a DSM with Evo power for simply pennies on the Dollar!

Build yourself a nice 6-bolt 1gDSM motor. If you have enough cash, simply purchase a Buschur 1G built block, it'll be the last you need!

he is right,,, skip the evo3 motor and build up an early 6 bolt.....
the only reason for the evo3 motor is to brag about a "jdm" part.... and that is bad... very bad...

a 6 bolt will handle more power.. and less worrying about crank walk... thrust bearing failure is usually catastrophic

The Stock 6-bolt is probably stonger then the latest Evo Motor. This stupid rods are just HUGE and people have gon 10's on completely stock blocks.

This pistons are kinda bad with a 7.8-1 Compression but you could swap in some 2G pistons
