I read somewhere that people got 40+whp from an aftermarket intake manifold with a heavily modded Evolution (like yourself). No idea about the ported though.

Well I called AMS and Buschur and got 2 different opinions about this topic.

AMS said that at my mod level an intake manifold would be the most benifitial of the two. and that my head is still flowing fairly efficiently.

BUT Buschur said that I would most definitley want to go with the ported and polished head.

SOOOO not really too sure what to think about this. Might just toss a quarter lol j/k

what do ya'll think based on that???

I would go with the +1mm ported and polished head and porting the stock Intake manifold. Cosworth gets an increase in flow of 26% int 18% exh with their head. That means there is a lot of room for improvement over stock.

I would think you could port the intake manifold and get a decent improvement over stock. I don't know how close it would be to an AMS manifold but, it is definitely easier to port an intake manifold yourself than it is a head.
