t-case fluid

is the t-case fluid the same thing as the transmission fluid....because i want to change out my transmission fluid, but all i found was a how to on changing the t case fluid...are these too the same thing? because i thought that it was like 4 different types of fluids that you use. And for the t-case it is just one fluid that u put in there..

just use OEM diaqueen in the TC and rear diff.

use oem (6-speed specific) in the tranny.

They ARE two DIFFERENT oils.

absolutely not the same fluid! The transmission fluid is debatable on what to use. GM Syncromesh, BG Syncroshift, Redline, Royal Purple, etc.....

But it's fairly well accepted that you only want to use the stock Mitsubishi Diaqueen fluid in your t-case. There's two versions, so make sure you get the right one for your car.

late edit: the transmission fluids mentioned above are for the 5-sp. transmission. Not sure if they work in the 6-sp. I should read closer before I type a response!

Yes. You should definitely use Diaqueen for the transfer case and the rear diff. I just did the fluids myself a few weeks ago. I bought a gallon of Diaqueen from the dealership and it cost about $52. Since the rear diff and the transfer case only use a little more than half a quart each, the gallon should last at least three fluid changes. For the transmission I used three quarts of Royal Purple. The owner's manual specifies which fluids you need.

Kind of off-topic but what do people use in the ACD? I've noticed that my fluid level is a bit below the "Min" mark.
