Car Trouble: Slipping Clutch??? Not Sure Help!

I was driving for 2 hours to NY, car was fine

Got HKS Racing intake installed and small Oddyssy battery installed as well.

Turned the car on and try to drive it, once it reaches like 3000 rpms and the blowoff valve comes in action, the car does not really accelerate at all.

I had a hard time getting to 70 mph. My friend's say it is a SLIPPING CLUTCH and that I need to get a new one. MY CAR IS SORT OF NEW 15,000 miles, but it is my first stick shift car.

I'm ready to buy a new clutch ACT Street disc tomorrow, But before I do i just want to make sure that it is my clutch and I heard my dealership warranty does not cover the clutch. PLEASE HELP AND ASSIST BEFORE I ORDER MY NEW CLUTCH!!! thanks

Sounds like you have a boost leak a big one. Check to make sure that the connections to the BOV are tight both on the BOV and where it connects with a rubber hose to the intake.

if you step on the gas, and the rpm's raise, but the car doesnt go faster, then the clutch is bad..

it's not your blowoff valve coming into action, it's that the connections on your blowoff valve aren't tight, and you have a significant boost leak.

i had another mechanic reinstall and recirculate the BOV instead of venting in the air and its still the same problem, we are almost certain that its da clutch.
NO engine light, nothing leaking, everything bolted on right.

Does anyone know how long a clutch takes to repair? and if i should go to the dealership? or just a tuner shop?

the BOV sputters and makes some sound but the car just doesn't really go anywhere. I'm just shocked my clutch went at such an early stage. thanks

dude i doubt it's your clutch, and even if it it's not the biggest deal in the world. you installed these parts and then it started happening wright ?so do u think it's your clutch.and you dont repair a clutch you get a new one.put your stock intake on and i bet the problem goes away.

Bluebyu, it probably IS his clutch.

Anyway, I answered in the other thread. You're not supposed to make the same thread multiple times, noob.

yea sorry, i am a noob. im just worried and cant wait to get my car started back up again

thanks for everyone s help

I did put the stock intake back on and recirculated the BOV, same thing occurred

so far everyone is saying its da clutch. nothing is leaking, no engine light, just does not accelerate when u hit higher than like 2 or 3000 rpms as it should.

i just have to find someone to install my new one now, know of someone let me know

There are known Evo shops in NJ. Have you done any searching whatsoever?
