MBC install with a few problems!

i installed buschur MBC, and all the how to's never really said how to take the fan out. i had to take the upper radiator hose off the radiator for the fan to come out. i played with it for 30 mins. before i took the hose loose. i did loose some fluid that spilled on the radiator and exhaust manifold. so i get it all back together and refill the radiator and crank it up. as usual some steam comes out of the engine bay, i've seen this after a heavy rain. i go out and do 6 pulls in 3rd to set the MBC and i still have alittle steam coming from the radiator on the engine side. no leaks that i can see and the temp is fine. there are some marks on the radiator fins, nothing bad, i've seen worse. do you guys think that there is just some fluid left on the radiator, or somewheres that just needs to be burned off???? or is it possible that the radiator is that easy to puncture and i have a very very small hole??? thanks for any thoughts. by the way the MBC rocks. very nice product. i'm waiting on my jestr flash to come back.

Without seeing the car/radiator it is impossible to say with certainty, however, I believe it is doudtful that you punctured the radiator. Best thing to do is watch the coolant level and see if you keep getting smoke. Not sure how far you drove or how warm the engine got but it may take a while for all the spilled coolant to run/burn off.

You don't remove the radiator hose or even touch it when doing the MBC. I personally do remove the radiator fan, but you don't have to, which is why the how-tos don't explain how to do it.

Anyway, no way for us to know what you did to the radiator, but you could either still be burning off residual fluid, or you may have not clicked your radiator cap to that very last position. I've done that a few times where I thought it was sealed, but then I found that it had to be pushed down and rotated another 1/4 turn.

I also have the BR MBC and did not have to remove anything pertaining to the radiator to install the MBC. It's probably just some residual coolant, but I would monitor your coolant level just to make sure.

fan removal

i'm pretty mechanically inclined and i dont see that fan coming out without the radiator hose coming off or the lower ICP coming off. i didnt want to get under the car, but that would have been easier to get to the vacuum hoses instead of removing the fan. anyways i'm letting it cool down to check the fluid. i just wanted to see is someone here had experience with pulling the top radiator hose and getting fluid all over the place. thanks.

I remove the fan when doing MBCs, and I have never touched the hose. You have to angle the fan, and you have to bend the bracket that the fan controller attaches to, but that's not the way most people do it. You can get under the car, which you didn't want to do, or you can just remove the intake and MAF pipe.

I watched someone take the upper radiator hose to get the fan off too. The fan doesn't exactly come straight out. You have to angle it just right and be really careful not to scrape it on the radiator fins, but it does come out without removing the upper hose.

1. not able to get the radiator fan out.
2. having to remove the upper radiator hose because i couldnt figure it out.
3. having steam come from what i hope is residue fluid on the radiator.
4. not having my jestr flash yet.

on the plus side it only took me 2hrs. and i found a nice spot for the controller. right in front of the airbox where the lower ICP is attached.

I think you meant to say "it took me a WHOPPING 2 hours." It's a 30-45 min job - 2 hours is a long long time, so you wouldn't say "only 2 hours."

The airbox is nowhere near the LICP, so I think you're confused, but if the MBC is in front of the airbox, then that's a good spot - same place I have mine.
