Running rich after tbe install!!!!

ive seached and searched and found that evos run relatively rich from the factory.

my problem im having is somewhat alittle more and its getting frustrating. i recently installed an xs power tbe system on my 04 about 2 weeks ago. my mods are cams, intake, exhaust, mbc, possibly fuel pump. (got the car already with mods except exhaust) up untill the exhaust install, the mbc was set to spike 20, dropping off to 18. after the install, it was spiking 22-23 and tapering back to 20. i adjusted it and it was back to normal.

a few days ago, the wheather went from being in the 70s and 80s to being 40s and 50s. i know air temperatures make turbo cars run different. now when i get on it through the gears, im hitting fuel cut in 3rd and its only spiking 20 and holding 18. im not sure if its fuel cut or spark blow out. ive also noticed im running extemely rich. anywhere from 10.9s-11.7s. is it the crazy wheather thats making it run like this or is time for a tune??

it's definitely time for a tune.

A good tune for pump gas should be in the low 11's. 11.7 is a bit lean for pump, unless you really want to be on the ragged edge for safety, having to watch gauges constantly to make sure nothing has drifted.

i ran into the same problem when i installed an exhaust on my evo 8. all u need to do is reset the ecu. easiest way to do is to pull the fuse for the engine and leave it out for about 3-5 mins. (they should be the 2 20amp fuses.) pumped the brakes 3 times and re-install the fuse. after that turn on the car, let it warm up for about 3 mins. go do a couple WOT pulls. things should be fine after that. or u can just disconnect the negative terminal for about 3-5 min.

i was running filthy rich til i did that. after i reset, boost and everything was just fine. anytime u add mods, reset ur ecu so it can relearn them

Yea typically disconnectting the battery for about 5 mins will do the trick to reset the ecu and reset the learning curve to your new addtitions.
