I just took the time to actually watch the end of that video. You say that you want to find the company so you can complain to the better business bureau. then you say you cant even find them on the internet. HA what a tool you are. They not only have a website with all the same info form the box, they have perfect 100% feedback on e-bay with 20 or so recent feedbacks.
It seems they also sell a COPY of the HKS wastegate
They dont even answer their phone - no voice mail
This is a great example of how people who try and rub nickles together to get dimes wind up with a bag of **** on their hands
Sometimes, I have to remind myself we are dealing with $30,000 evos and not $300 dsms
I think the point is that when you buy part from David you get the following :
1 - His company sponsors and supports these forums - (unlike the ebay vendors)
2 - he tests the products on his dyno and only sells ones which make power
3 - he employs a expert sales team of Jrod and Nick to answer the phone - give tech advice and process your order in a timely manner
4 - he has a professional shipping depertment you can call to track your order
5 - His parts coatings, etc are warrantied
Most of the Br parts are made by BR so this convo is irrelevant
However, as David pointed out when he decided to sell these parts - the ones he sells are impossible to duplicate for the same price
To his credit he has always openly identified them as the ebay 02 housing modified with the BR coating

I am sure when Al see me posting here he's going to think "WTF! Is he following me here from Nasioc".
For the first time that I can ever remember I have to 100% completely agree with Al. This Ebay O2 housing was in bad shape the day we were installing L.J.'s parts.
Matt helped to remove all of the stock turbo assemble and I welded all of the holes in the housing. I stopped counting how many holes there were. Also I only used 35 amps to reweld the housing because the material was so thin. The second I struck an arc the weld would sink, this is good for penetration but shows that the durability of the housing was in question.
The first thing I noticed was the seriously small wastegate hole. The stock O2 housing's wastegate area was like 4 times the size of the Ebay O2 housing. When L.J. was saying he was having boost creep issues the first thing I thought of was the tiny hole on the wastegate side of the O2 housing.
I guess the moral of the story is "if the price is too good to be true, it probably is". Buy from reputable vendors who have good customer service and that sell proven parts. If the housing worked out for L.J. it would have been cool. It cost him nothing to have me re-weld the holes and have his friends help him out with the install. The real world though, the housing was a total loss and cost him extra time and labor to have the stock housing installed to fix the creep issue.
Take all the info for what it is and learn from it. Some of you may have bought Ebay O2 housings and gotten the real deal, L.J. did not. I feel bad for my friend but his loss is your gain. Double check the quality of the unit your receive and make sure it has a wastegate hole big enough to flow properly.
In the end, Al posted this info for your gain. As much as I hate to say it, you have to respect him for that.

Why is this even an argument.
I used to buy and resell the Ebay 02's. I bought them, then had them ceramic coated, then sold them here. I did about 10 housings. I got them at a great price.
I had the Helix, Megan, SS Autochrome, and Edge Racing 02's all in my possession at the same time. Not to mention some other no-name Ebay ones.
With that said, they were all 100% identical. HOWEVER, lately some companies on Ebay have been selling imitation Ebay 02 housings which are complete awful junk. To start, I dont even think they are Stainless Steel. Secondly, the welds are awful. Lastly, the hole in the 02 housing that allows the wastegate exhaust to enter the main stream is much smaller than the original Ebay 02s.
As for Buschur selling them for $200. Well, since I did the same thing, I can tell you he is right in selling them for that price to make a 20% profit. The cost of getting the item, then shipping it to the coater, coating cost, then shipping it back its not as cheap as one would think. Also, people seem to forget something. THATS A PAIN IN THE *****. After all is said and done, I think most people would be willing to pay the extra "20% markup" Buschur charges in order to get a part thats ready to install as soon as you get it.

I'm not sure if you guys noticed this or not, but the wastegate port and pipe was completly clean and clear of any exhaust gas deposits. You could clearly see the carbon deposits on the main ehxuast pipe, but completly clean on the wastegate side. There could of been clearance issues on the wastegate flapper that was not allowing it to open properly. I'm not saying the hole wasnt big enough, it prolly wasnt, nor am i endorsing such a piece of **** part......i am only making a observation from the video. if the wastegate flapper could not open up properly you would deffinatly get boost creep. Factor that in with a wastegate dump tube that was was too small where it meets the main pipe and you could really see why he was having boost creep issues.

I have this EXACT same o2 housing from the same company(cxracing) and although ive only been running it for about a week, ive done many pulls without even the slightest sign of boost spikes or creep past 1.5 bar. So as long as it doesn't crack i'm good. And yeah, mine has the tiny wastegate hole too.
it seems like this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...QQcmdZViewItem has the extra welds on the housing as opposed to the other ones i've seen where the welds are at a minimum

Looks the same to me! Although, after a second look, the welds do look a bit cleaner!
Main, the chineese megan knock off manifolds are cheap as hell at that same store. 114$!! the only problem, they are probably good for one day at the track before it's time to get another one!
CJ
if you look though that linked one has an extra weld toward the skinny end where as the one in this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8756267&rd=1,1 didn't have that extra weld. And the one in question seemed to have that extra weld near the skinny end
I don't really understand what everyone is arguing about. The cxracing o2 housing is clearly different than the other o2 housings other suppliers sell (buschur, megan, helix). This isn't propoganda, it's just clearly stating that you should avoid the cxracing stuff.
I don't personally know al or dave, but it seems like al is just giving everyone a heads up instead of letting the silly cheapskates **** themselves over. I don't see al or dave telling everyone to stay away from ebay, I just see them telling everyone to stay away from cxracing.
It's obviously clear that the housings aren't the same. Instead of bashing al, you guys should thank him for lookin' out.
BTW: search around and you'll find that even ssauto has chosen a new "supplier" for thier o2 housings and provide a frankenstein POS housing with poor fitment and too many awkward bends. Does that mean boycot ssauto or ebay? Nope, just make sure you don't get ****ed over. Thanks al.

I've been using this same housing for almost a week now. And this Texas weather has gone from 50*-90* and no matter what the climate- THERE IS NO BOOST CREEP.
It holds 1.5 Bar all day long without a hitch.
If it falls apart or cracks- I'll post letting everyone know.
I bought from CXRacing, not knowing there has been issues. We'll see how it goes.

I'm not sure why everyone wants a tubular O2 housing in the first place. DB got more power from it because he ended up running more boost with it. I'm not ripping on DB but seriously if you took to normal EVOs both running 22psi one with the housing and one without the power would be the same.
I must say the price BR is charging is pretty high. Its not like he sends these off one at a time. Get 20 of them toss em in the box send them off to the coater get them back in one big box. Lets not make more out of the process than there is to it.
For those of you that have the housing .... if you think the hole is too small dremmel the f{}cker out.
