FP says they have made a few EVO Greens with the 9.8 HS. Just wanted to see if any of them are with by EvoM members who could give a report?

Robert offered to sell me a Green with the 9.8 hotside, due to the lack of 10.5 cores being returned via FP's exchange program. He noted that I could expect an increase in spool, but a decrease in topend power... As I have an Evo IX, it would not be worth the $$$ to upgrade to an EvoGreen with a 9.8 - so I declined...

 

wouldnt that be like an elephant f.cking a mouse - bigger wheel with even a smaller housing than a 9 turbo? watch out for surge...

 

That would be very silly to do. The spool between the 9.8 and 10.5 is incredibly negligible while the top-end difference is completely noticeable. Definitely get a 10.5 hotside.
