i added the ported mani and 02 at the same time as well... there was definitely a noticeable difference in power and spool seemed to be much much smoother. I dont know what the HP difference is, but i'd have to say with adding those 2 parts, i jumped at a minimum 10 whp.

I think the 02 housing does a lot more than the manifold.

Below you can find DB's answer to me when I enquired about the ported stock manifold:

**I can gaurantee a 5 hp increase over stock IF the turbine housing and 02 housing are addressed first. IF you leave the turbine housing a 9.8 unported piece and the 02 housing unported you will not gain anything from the manifold.

I could not do an exchange as I am located abroad. After thinking about gains vs door to door cost (including installation, shipping, exhaust manifold seal) I decided to go with the FR pro-stock manifold.
What would you think it would make with a 10.5 unported housing and a SS 02 housng

5hp? I would think that unported 10.5 housing would not hinder performance... I will ask my shop guys about porting it when I go to get my stuff installed.

I am interested in finding out about gains in porting the 10.5 housing as well - anybody care to chime in?

I did the BR ported manifold and hotside and added the ebay 02 as well and made NO ADDITIONAL POWER.

I have dyno'ed before and after and once the results came out I got rid of it...

This is the exhaust mani correct? I'm really surprised that the ebay 02 itself didn't make some power!?!

Wow this is pretty odd. Especially with all those parts I would have expected at least 15hp.

Were these runs done on the same dyno back to back or was there days or moths in between?

I think there was a month or two in between, but when we redynoed, the temps were similar and my graphs came out similar to my first one

I would bet that you did make power but it was negated due to weather changes. A 10hp variation between dyno runs is very normal. Thats why you really need to do a couple before pulls and a couple after pulls and then average them when you are dealing with gains of only a few hp.

I agree with your reasoning, but if I had to do it all over again i would have saved my money and ut it towards mods that would have madea bigger difference.....

10 HP for like 200+ dollars is not worth it unless you are driving a Honda

10HP for 200$ is a pretty good deal once you get done with the low hanging fruit i.e. TBE + tune.

I'm getting ready to install a ported/coated stock mani, but I will also be getting cams tuned at the same time - not much help, I know...

One other thing I noticed during my research on the same topic is that people were seeing spool-up come about 300rpm sooner. I hope to gain around 5-8whp with this mod...

It totally depends on all of your other mods-I'm going to do a more lengthly post on my mods dyno #'s findings etc... But here is my latest round of mods & disappointing results
SS Autochrome (Ebay) o2 housing-(Also tried Invidia-no difference), 65mm TB w/ported intake, ported exhaust mani & hotside, custom intake

Previous #'s on 20G-LT "Green" MAXED OUT 462whp/464ft lbs

2 quick pulls before more gas was needed new #'s 467whp/468ft lbs

Going to try to tune some more tomorrow & see if there is anything more left in it

Where is the claimed 15whp for 65mm TB/ported intake + the same 15whp for just the O2 housing and the rest were worth????

I would have never spent all the time & $ on all of this stuff for 5 hp/4ft lbs

Part of the issue is the turbo is completely maxed out, but I would have expected more then this out of all the changes that were made

My tuner told me that I would be lucky to get 5-10 peak hp out of all the mods-I should have listened-He is totally correct!

Did you port-match the exhaust manifold? I have seen a template of the exhaust ports made, and lets just say it didn't line up with some of the port work that's available to the public. If people want to get every last bit of power out of their set-ups, they need to do this kind of detail work.

For example, not only did I have the turbine inlet ported on my EvoGreen, I had the turbine outlet ported too. I also sent it out to get Swain coated. Hopefully this kind of attention to detail adds up in the end. Right now it's good theory...we'll have to see how it applies once my car gets dynoed.
