i know all this is soooo soooo different but thats all in kinda know about it and i thought it would be way different when tunning our cars. just curious, elaborate more. i need to know more.
E85 has about 30% less energy than the equivilant amount of gas and that is why gas mileage sucks. So, I started by adding about 30% fuel across the board. This makes the car run pretty good, but start up was crap (appearantly a common problem with E85) so I added another 20% for start up and it does better now.

Someone else asked about timing - I am running 13 degrees advance on my Power FC at peak torque and ramping up from there. If I get some time, I'll test to see if adding even more timing nets me any power.

Looking over my maps

running 11.5-12.0 a/f at wot, running 24-25psi.. gave it around 5 degrees more timing throughout map.

Runs pretty good for rough tune..

I still need to install more parts so i can do a complete tune.

I'm running just a bit leaner, but about the same timing at 26 psi. When I have time, I'll add some more boost and really work the timing.

Anybody know about the Vishnu set up which allows the car to run 91 and E85 on the same tune.

Shiv uses neither. This article is ambiguous http://blogs.edmunds.com/.ee96286

I guess it should read "not at the same time." The problem is injector scaling???

Or the problem is Shiv's lack of interest in the EVO. The dual fuel capabilities would be a nice advantage for the Xede.

im not sure about the e85 and 91 tune... but my friend that i work with just got tuned by shiv (he has a 335) on fri. and shiv told him that he gets 9mpg with the evo on e85 and that he was keeping extra fuel in the trunk when he was on the highway! i dont want to put words in either of there mouths but the way my buddy was explaining the small conversation, shiv did not seem impressed and was bothered by the mileage. not shiv's words but by my friends tone of voice thats how it sounded.

Dynoed and tuned with ecuflash on e85 at DB Preformance this week. Stock IXs on this dyno put down between 220-230 hp stock as a reference. I put down 328hp/337tq at 26 psi, zero knock, 11:1 AFR, conservative timing, 73% inj duty cycle on 1000cc inj and single 255 walbro. We aren't even done tuning yet, it was late and I was out of e85. Will have better numbers and details to add hopefully in the next week or so.

I have burned through two tanks of e85 and I got 20mpg on the first tank and 21mpg on the second, I made quite a few WOT runs giving people rides, not bad for mileage. Long term Fuel trims are pulling 5% so I am rich at cruise still. Only thing is the car sorta stumbles when i start it sometimes otherwise driveability is just like stock.

So far I have spent less than $570 in mods on my evo, all parts were purchased new. 14,000 miles on the car and I still run an unmodified stock air box and original air filter. I try to spend the money where it gains me the most bang for the buck.

$200 ebay exhaust
$35 DB Performance MBC
$250 1000cc injectors
$80 Walbro pump

Car minus the injectors and pump made 291hp/279tq at 23psi on same dyno back in January.

so you basicly picked up 40 whp and 60ftlbs from a fuel switch and you say you getting good mileage, sounds like the best bang for the buck

My mileage started out better, but has settled to 15 mpg. Still not bad, when you consider it performs like $8-$10 per gallon race fuel.

And TalonFiero - I had the same stumble problem and cured it by adding fuel in the areas where it was stumbling. Also, I found the E85 made even more power and still no knock running it leaner than what you are. I would target similar a/fs to what you would on race gas.
