Installed Forge MBC, and WOW!!!

Just installed my Forge MBC, and talk about a night and day difference! I couldnt get to the turbo inlet pipe clamp since it was under the pipe, so I decided to install from under the car. It took me longer to remove the under tray and reinstall it than the whole MBC install. (my first one too )

I have access to a lift so it was no big deal. If you install from the bottom, this thing is right in your face! LOTS of room to work! Only thing that went wrong was when I tried to remove the stock hose from the turbo inlet pipe, I ripped the damn nipple right out of the pipe! I put it back in, and vac capped it fine though. No leaks. I bought the blue Forge 3mm hose kit with it so it looks realy nice too! It was dark when I finished, but Ill get some pics up soon.

So I set it all the way to 0 clicks, to ensure I didnt blow a whole in my motor, took it for a ride, stopping a few times to dial it in. It only took me "7 CLICKS" to get up to 19psi! Im guessing that the hard spring was installed when I bought it? I got it new from importimage. And it did come with a second spring. After I install my Walbro, and get tuned, I plan on bumping it up to 21psi though.

WOW this freaking thing pulls now!!! I know it must tapper some, but once it hits 19 it seems to just hold it! It might tapper 1psi, but thats about it. Keep in mind that I dont have a tune yet, so I cant boost all the way to redline because of fuel cut, but up to 6000rpms or so it just doesnt let up. Im going to drive it nice till my tune this weeked, but I cant wait to see 21psi!

Anyways, awsome unit! A++! Thanks again importimage for the great deal on the Forge/Walbro! You should give everyone a heads up on the stiff spring though? Id hate to see someone blow a motor because they "think" that cranking it all the way up will = 21psi!?!? You guys know somone is going to do it!

He tuned me to like 23psi! haha. One thing Chris mentioned to me was to make sure to ziptie ALL your lines where you ran hoses. Not sure what your kit comes with, but I highly recommend this. Remember, if any of those boost lines come off, you'll have unlimited boost now instead of falling back to 11psi wastegate. FYI.

I'm also running a Forge MBC - the UNOS. Nice unit and all.

Yea, the kit came with zip ties, but I always carry extra when I work on my car! I made sure they were REALY tight too! I used some of the extras to keep the lines looking clean after I was done. I need to take a pic today.

Just remeber to take baby steps with a MBC knob. I figured I needed an extra turn and a half the first time I was setting mine in my old tsi to increase it to 16psi, and I hit somewhere between 25-30 for half a sec...almost **** myself. lol

yea, I was reading that it took like 90 clicks to get up to 20psi, so I gave it 10 clicks the first time I adjusted it thinking i wouldnt see it move yet. 1st gear wot as soon as it hit 20psi (WELL BEFORE peak boost!) I let off, and turned it down to 1 click! Then went up 1 at a time untill I got 19psi. 7 clicks did the trick perfect. After driving it for a couple of days and watching it closely, it hits 19.5, and tappers to 19 on the money. Cant wait to see 22psi after my tune this weekend!
