Fuel Pump Install
Fuel Pump Install
I was going to install a Walboro 255lph fuel pump. For those who have put this in, does it need a install kit? I've read the evomoto.com install guide, but they tell you to grab a rubber isolater, new filter, and retainer for the filter from the install kit. I just ordered a fuel pump, but don't have the install kit with it from gruppe-s.com. Is it possible w/o the kit? Just need some advice before I do the install or have to order a install kit, thanks.
Fuel
You can use the one from your factory pump.

+1 or you'll be swiming in gas. Also be sure to open your gas cap and be prepared with somethings to clean up gas, the lines are pressurized and may make a little mess when you disconnect them.
Oh, no smoking no sparks

and do NOT do it in a closed garage. do it out in the open with the doors open. one of my buddys at one of my old jobs was in an explosion when they were working on his gas tank in a garage, down in a pit lowering the tank. they saw it coming, my buddy ran for the ladder/stairs or whatever it was, and he didn't remember actually climbing out. if my memory serves me correct, it was either his dad, or his friends dad that was down there with him, and that person wasn't as lucky getting out

I did mine with about 3/4 tank with not much of a mess. I had it on ramps doing some other stuff too so I think that raising the front end helped by moving all the fuel to the backside of the tank. I did start the car after disconnecting the fuel pump power source to empty the lines before disconnecting them. Never saw anything about removing the gas cap either.
