Resurface Flywheel or dont?

I was told by the dealer service dept. that my evo VIII would have problems if I resurfaced the flywheel. Im doin a exedy stage 1 clutch install. I dont know if they told me that just so they could get more $ from me for a new one or what. I know its much better if I do a HD light flywheel but.. I'll only get it if I cant resurface the stock one. I dont do any racing. I just cruise the car so... your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Its always wise to just replace it if it has any damage. Otherwise, its not wise to resurface the stocker because it will thin and weaken the flywheel (as said by many).

If you absolutely must keep it (financially or whatever) and the stocker isnt damaged, it would be wise to just clean it with a scotch brite green pad.
