Free 8hp Mod?

Is it possible to get more power if you take the coolant hoses off the tb and connect them away from the tb..therefore the hoses arent heating up the air thats passing threw?

Works on LT-1 350's, dont know if it works on EVO's.

remember to hook it back up in the winter so throttle does not freeze.

probably wont be a very noticeable gain. Depending on how much boost you're running, the intake air is warm already

1g and 2g DSM's did it too. Most likely not worth 8 hp, but it's good for giving idle surge in cold temps (to remind you to revert back if necessary) and arguably increases the life expectance of the stepper motor in the idle speed controller (ISC).

I have done this and didn't really notice any difference on the ol butt dyno, but I'm sure it didn't hurt either. I didn't revert back in the winter and was fine.

Most who do a full build do this. Every little bit helps I guess. I also doubt the 8hp

I've done this already as well. Can't really say I noticed a huge difference, but what I do notice is lack of that "warmed up car slow down".

Know how your car seems REALLY fast when it's just warming up? Just after the needle starts moving on the temp? Then when it's hot, it slows down a little. That's gone, because I believe there is no hot water circulating through the TB.

I dont drive that car in the winter, so I just leave it disconnected year round.
