2.0L Motor Build Need Help!

But some how my rods which came in were dfferent i didnt knew it untill the engine was built and now i have a compression of like 7.8 or somthing
So now what do i do
The car at 1.5 bar was slower than the stock.....
I am running BR GT35R with other thing mentioned in my sig.
Need help...

Ouch I bet a simple compression check would have verified that.

Contact your engine builder and ask what happened?

Shorter rods would decrease compression ratio.

Look on the bright side! With that lower compression ratio, you´ll be able to run much higher boost on pump gasoline, than you would with a higher compression ratio. Try more advanced cam timing settings as well, like, +2 intake/0 exhaust.

Do you happen to know your deck clearance? Did you check the compression height on your pistons prior to assembly?

You could have accidentally installed pistons for a 100mm stroke. The compression height would be significantly shorter, thus increasing your deck clearance and lowering your compression ratio.

If your rods are too short, you have two options:
-Order the correct length rods
-Order pistons with the correct compression height

Either way, you have to tear down the engine. There is always the other option....turn up the boost.

Yup Shorter Rods....
The parts were ordered by a performance shop...
When the parts came in i didnt knew that the Carrillo Rods were shorter and that the pistons were .50 over....
Even my engine builder didnt told me untill they were in.....
So now ill turn up the boost to around 2 bars and see how does it performs.
One more thing i am also having surging issues with my 35R.... Any advise how do i counter that???

With lower compression ratio you should be able to run more boost without knock. Your overall power potential will likely be a little lower than with a higher compression ratio. Try increasing your boost and see if you are happy with the power. If you are not, the only thing you can do is have the rods replaced. This can be done with the engine in the car by pulling the head and dropping the oil pan. Then the pistons and rods are pulled out the top, new rods are attached to the pistons, and the whole setup is dropped back in.

Really. Then I think you should be happy with the lower compression if you are going with two power adders. It will probably make the car a little easier to tune.
