Some problems with the Zeitronix ZAVT
I posted this in another section but didnt get any response so I'll try it here.
Well I had mentioned in my other thread that I was having problems with my ZAVT always going off. I thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. Heres the deal.
I have it wired in just how the diagram said, with the red going to the 12v power, the white going to the relay white, the blue goes to the ZT-2 blue, and the black goes to a ground. I have the power for the ZAVT, the relay, and the ZT-2 all going to the ignition wire, pin #82 on my VIII.
Well I thought I had the problem fixed as when I had the ignition turned to the acc. position it wasn't going off. However, once I turn the car on it goes on again. Heres what Ive done:
1 turned all the warnings off in my laptop, still goes off
2 disconnected the white wire, still goes off
3 disconnected the blue wire, still goes off
4 disconnected the ground, still goes off
What else could it be? With only the red wire connected it still goes off.

The alarm cannot go off with only red wire connected to +12V and black (and other wires) disconnected from ground. Circuit needs to be completed (closed) for current to flow to from power to ground. It's like trying to connect only positive side of the battery (not the negative) and try to start the car
You probably connected the red wire to +12V and the white wire is grounded via the relay.
