Issue with above 20PSI

Not to long ago I added a few mods to my car. Quick run down.

3" TBE
Walbro 255
Injen UICP
Injen LICP
Injen Intake
Greddy RS BOV ( recirculated and small spring removed, set at soft setting )
TTP Flash
Go Fast Bits MBC

I keep turning the MBC up to get to 22 PSI but no matter how far I crank it ( 1/4 turns at a time don't want to go over ) I cannot seem to get above 20PSI. Even then it seems to taper off rather quickly. I removed the stock vacuum hoses and installed my own so the restricters are no longer in the lines.

Also the Greddy seems to flutter under part throttle sometimes. Does this mean I need to set it to harder?

+1. anytime you're having a boost related problem, a leak test should be #1 on your things-to-do list. most of the time, you'll never know if you have a leak unless you do a test. i'd reccomend doing one every 5-10K miles as part of your preventative maintenance. as far as the RS, if it's surging under part throttle, i wouldn't stiffen it anymore, maybe loosen it a little. i always had part throttle surge with my RS, so i sold it, got an S, and it's much nicer.

I would really check for boost leaks, Your boost gauge is set to manifold pressure so if there is any leaks its not going to see as much pressure as the turbo is actually spitting out, You could be putting a huge amount of stress on your turbo by overspinning it.

Anyone got a link to build a boost leak tester, I have seemed to have lost it and can't find it on VFAQ.

Thanks for the replys.

OK sorry for the verbiage, but what the hell are you doing taking springs out of the GReddy RS bov?

#1 that mod was not designed for that valve, only the Type-S.

#2- I have posted time and time again NOT to do that mod even to the type-s as it makes the valve leak at idle. Now if it leaks on the good version type-s, imagine what it does on the garbage GReddy RS valve.

Put the springs back in the valve, sell it in the private FS section and get a FORGE Evo15 valve with red spring.

didn't even see that. i've used an RS and S both single spring modded and not, and i can tell you from leak tests and driving with them that single spring mod is crap. keep both springs in either valve if you use them.

Alright. Thanks for the heads up. I never saw anyone on here saying to keep both the springs in the RS. I just saw posts saying take it out when I searched.

I'll look into the forge! Where can I get it? Thanks!

I have them in stock in polished and black.

The fact is that the GReddy RS leaks even with 2 springs. The only GReddy valve that was good was the type-s which is discontinued.

Cool. I was on your site and saw the Forge RS and Forge Recirculating BOV. Didn't see the FORGE Evo15 that you refer to above in this thread. Can you link me?
