exhaust manifold question

exhaust manifold question

i have a maxford tubular exhaust manifold ( similar to megan racing ). anyways, i was told that i'm loosing torque compared to the stock manifold....any inputs on this? should i reinstall my stock ones? maybe get it ported instead....thanks!

NUMEROUS threads have been posted about aftermarket manifolds....on the stock turbo, the best solution is a ported "stock" manifold, if you have the $, 99% of the people here will tell you to go with a full race manifold if you are using the stock turbo.

anybody else......what is a full race manifold?, also im planning to get the green turbo.....

I never understood this. Some say this if "you are using a stock turbo" and others no matter the turbo. Why would any of the other well built manifolds not make power compared to only the full race which does....


I can understand the longevity argument regarding the full race unit however even the likes of the megan should be able to quicken spool and assist in top end power.
