I would not port it out to the size of a golfball. It should be between 35-38mm. Max would be 40.

My Megan had a 35mm wastegate merge hole and would creep to 25psi. I ported it to about 55mm and it still creeps, but only to 18psi.

BTW, port the merge hole with the 02 housing on the car, it saves a bunch of time. ... If you've already installed it that is.

I think your talking about something completely different. Creeping is when the boost is set to lets say 23psi.. and while youre WOT, it"creeps" to 24-25-26 for instance. Boost taper is when your boost hits 23psi (for example) and falls down to 18psi by redline. That is normal with stock turbo EVOs as well.

yea a little confused here ...creep = increase taper = decrease.... probably a typing error i assume?

ahhh... no. creep is when you can't control boost, it continues to increase with load even when the wastegate is open.

Then you are having issues elsewhere. 55 mm is just way too big. Measure your stock unit and you will see. What you are describing though is not boost creep. A wastegate adjustment might be needed.

This is a pic of a cast O2 housing but it will work for you. This is a view looking up from the downpipe side. The passage on the right is from the wastegate side, you have to make that hole bigger with some sort of grinding tool.

In this picture it's right in the area where the 2 pipes merge.

I should have been more clear. My target boost was 22 psi beofre porting, but i was creeping to 25psi.

After i ported the merge hole. I would creep with my boost controller off (running off wastegate) to 18psi. So im assuming this is still boost creep, considering i should have not seem anything above 12-13psi?

Do you have a stock wastegate?

Thats what i originally thought. Adjusting the wastegate arm did nothing for me.
Im still boosting to 18psi with my EBC off. Not that it matters right now all that much since i run 22psi.
But i do plan on running methanol injectin soon. And if im creeping to 18psi, it seems a Mac valve failsafe would almost be pointless in the event of an error.

What else could be causing this creep?
