Huh?? 1200 deg paint is no where near enough to withstand a hotside. They get in excess of 1600 at times.

Umm, maybe I wasn't clear enough. My hotside, exhaust manifold and 02 housing are Swain coated. I live in California, so white= no mas. Cops would see it in a second. So I applied the 1200 degree paint OVER the Swain coating. Make sense? Now everything is black instead of blindingly beautiful white

well.....i was not saying its not an excellent turbo bro...i just said its stealthy cause it uses a stock evo 9 turbo and most V8 guys in my area are too pu$$y to race cars with bigger turbos, so i try to keep it stealth to beat em and make some money but whatever. I too am buying to turbo for its 10s capabilities and great spool up , not because its not shiny and blinggin' like Lil Wayne .

I know but you said it defeats the purpose and well to 99.9% of us, how the turbo looks, really doesnt matter, its more how it performs. You can polish a stock turbo so you can still tell people its stock.

Well you can count me in that 99.9% of people who don't care how the turbo looks like but how it performs bro...but you gotta understand, i live in a hick town and everyone drive V8 or something thats not import so when they see a shiny turbo they automaticall thinks its aftermarket and got tons of power and don't wanna race for money, which is why i said it defeats the purpose of stealth. Sorry about not explaining a bit more but i guess i think that way cause where i live .

Nah man I gotcha, it does depend where you live. Everyone has a different perspective.

Anything that looks out of the ordinary is grounds for going to the referee. I have been pulled over 3 times for other things, and I have never been given any trouble or told to pop the hood. However, that doesn't mean it can't happen.

• Some cops have pyrometers with them and "gun" people's cats to make sure they're hot enough (people love to make test pipes look like catalytic converters here in SoCal

• ANything that looks out of olace is grounds for a fix-it ticket, at the very least. For example, I replaced a black hose with a silver one in my old Camry and they almost didn't approve my car at registration (visual inspection) because of it.

Because of this, every part I have on the car is black or stock looking. Samco pipes will have no Samco logo. Got a Forge RS valve in black. IC piping is black. Intercooler has Swain Tech heat-emitting coating on it (black). Race cat will have a heat shield mounted over it (it kinda looks like the Rndom Tech unit. You get the idea

I will be posting pics of all my stuff soon and then post dyno results when I have them as my build gets closer to being done.

Well, let's just say I've had enough of upstate New York's lake effect snow

Palm trees and over-zealous po-po are ok with me
