Lost clutch after 1 drag run! Need a new one!

Yah, so my clutch had about 32k on it, and I took it to the drag strip just to see, bone stock. And I burned it up on 1 run. Now it can berely grab any gear besides reverse.

I am looking for a replacement, for stock hp/torque. It seems that the ACT HDSS is a good product. I am also wondering what else I might need to replace, since it went out like that. i.e. flywheel, or resurface? I was going to get the ACT HDSS kit. I am trying to save money, but also want to make sure I fix it thoroughly.

Another question, how many hours should it take a shop to do the replacement?

I am looking for a deal on the "ACT HDSS", for any dealers out there. I would need it asap.

Anyone with comments feel free! Thanks!

The stock clutch will last for a very long time if not dragged or driven poorly. I would reccomend reading about launching your car before going out again with your new clutch.

the act hdss owns...get a lightweight flywheel while your at it though it made a huge difference...it holds power way better and i've heard of people loosing their stock clutch on one run but...he was making 410whp on the stock ix turbo lol...

I went with a Exedy stage 2 and a fidanza light flywheel. Its working out great! No chattering or anything. My clutch went out at 36k. If your on a budget I would suggest to go with an Exedy or ACT. Its always better to replace the stock Flywheel but honestly, most guys i know have just gotten it resurfaced and they where just fine. It should cost you like $30-$50 to resurface. All this depends ofcourse on how you drive the car. The less you spend on the car is the less you'll be able to beat on it. As far as labor... I looked everywhere! I got all different prices, ranging from $500- $1500. I decided it was ridicilously expensive and did it my self. It took me about 20 hours to do the whole install and it was pretty difficult. So.. make sure you trust where ever you take it. Hope everything goes well. Gook luck!

Undertaking a clutch install is not for everyone. Make sure you have the time to devote to your car, to make sure it gets done right.

been there twice first exedy now act. i like the feel of the exedy (pressure plate) better. the act disc grabs better. make sure you get someone that knows what there doing. if you don't get a lightened flywheel get the stocker resurfaced for sure!
