ACT is the way to go for price and performance. It holds great power and is CHEAP. No problems what so ever. All that complaining about shifting at high rpm problems seems to be a myth of sorts. Ive never once had a problem. As long as its installed correctly.

Basically, the life of any clutch you use depends on how you drive, plain and simple.
What he said. My car was at about 40k and modded when I pulled the engine because of a spun bearing caused by stretched rod bolts.

Even after many, many track days (road course) and quite a bit of spirited driving my OE clutch disk had all the relief vanes clearly visible - the disk looked a bit worn but by no means near the end of it's life. The flywheel & pressure plate do show some hot spotting, but nothing too serious. I will probably reassemble everything with a new OE clutch disk and a better pressure plate.

The dealer I worked with warranties it for one year. However, from the factory Mitsubishi DOES NOT warranty the clutch, but will warranty the rest of the drivetrain. Unless, of course, you install an aftermarket clutch.....

After digging for a bit, it looks like the ACT HDSS will be what I install in my car. While I don't need it to support drag starts, I will be adding power and am concerned about overpowering the stock clutch.

Now I just need to weigh up the stock flywheel and see how much relevant mass a ~10 lb flywheel will save...
