Tranny Problem!

Well, let me start by saying my father works as a Mitsu. salesman so i bought my 06 IX RS from him. It now has 850mi on it and i noticed getting on the interstate, that when i go from 4th to 5th it grinds. The car does have some mods nothing that is gonna make the tranny poop the bed. So im gonna take the car to the dealer and hopefully get a new tranny out of them. We all know how the "Best backed vehicles in the World" warrentee works...... Im also gonna hand them an exedy twin disk to put in it while there at it.

There also donna replace the drivers seat that wasnt put together right. Its comming apart down by the rail, like the cover wasnt attached correctly.

Well see how this goes.....wish me luck, its gonna be rich.

no kidding, 5th gear grind is fairly common with these cars. good luck in getting it fixed, I also doubt the dealer will install an aftermarket clutch especially a twin disk. But either way good luck man

When I was speaking to MMNA about my 5th gear grind, I also asked about the clutch. I mentioned the stock clutch felt a bit weak and I was thinking of using an aftermarket unit. MMNA said thats not a problem (wont void your drivetrain warranty) if its like kind and quality. So if you install a twin plate or a paddle type clutch they "could" void the drivetrain warranty.

Something to consider....

I had the same problem with the seat - the fabric coming loose at the bottom side. I put it back in place and pinched it with pliers. This, so far, has been a permanant fix.
