clutch problems guys

ok. i got another problem today man. well actually yesterday. the thing is my clutch feels very wierd. a few days ago i started to feel a vibration on the clutch pedal and yesterday i pressed the clutch in the whole way and started to rev it while i was in first. the car started to move a little bit anyway. so i stopped and put it in neutral and noticed that it was much harder to shift. so i bled the clutch and it felt really smooth after that, but i started to hear like a scraping noise everytime i pushed the pedal and released. i drove it home and noticed that it was getting harder to shift. when i got home i couldnt put the car in gear unless i turned it off and started it in gear, but when i let the clutch out a loud scraping noise again. it sucks. any help is amazingly appreciated. thanks

I would guess that either the release bearing is no longer properly attached or you lost a spring from the clutch disc and it is getting lodged against the pressure plate or flywheel.

damn. it feels like something like that is a possibility because it doesnt slip at all. if you press the gas, the car pretty much jumps. so i still dont know. any more info guys, keep the ideas coming.

definitely sounds like a disengagement problem as ACTman suggested. I just did a clutch job on an 04 the other day experiencing the same symptoms. It was a broken spring in the disk which was not fully letting the disk disengage.

good luck with the repair!

Act is good we have used the hdss in our shop car on our 10.9 runs for a daily driver this clutch works well along with the xtss and 6 puck sprung hub they offer also work extremly well in our local cars.

Of course it depends on what you are looking for but here is a poll that you might find helpful:

Do you still have a warranty?? If so, have them install another stock clutch (because they wont cover any tranny or xfer case issues u might have later with an aftermarket clutch).

Otherwise, the ACT street clutch or the no name clutch from Roadraceengineering are both great choices. If you'll be going this route, get the kit (with the lightweight flywheel).
