looking for more power ...Sugestions?

I need peoples thoughts on this??? so i went out to this place that deals alot with evos and sti's in york pa and was considering a tune and flash my current mods right now are a turbo back ( catless) injen upper and lower intercooler piping and intake, stage 2 exeddy clutch and flywheel, and was thinking about tuning next .. the guy i talked to told me for a better result is to do a ported 02housing and a new manifold or even keep the stock manifold and to have the turbo redone ....??? any sugestions

Wow, you have an '03 and no tune?! I think you'd be surprised what will happen when you get a tune.

Also, I would suggest not buying a new manifold. Maybe get the stock one ported if you have to. The tubular o2 housings do make power, but are a PITA to install. Upgraded turbos are always good but what price range are you looking at? Cams would help, as well.

You'll see a big difference in tuning. but before you tune, consider that green turbo with cams. That's the route i'm going. I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

It appears you don't know much about what mods you should start off with. Take a look at my sig. These are basic mods that are know to make power on an evo. You don't have to buy the brand that I have but they work.

walbro F.P is always good to have installed.

Who did you go to in York, PA? Only place worth mentioning in that area is CBRD.

also think what kind of power r u you looking bottom end or topend, and what type of racing will you do . If you do 1/4 mile then get bigger turbo and cams
and cam gears. But if you do AutoX or Track maybe just get cams , O2 and tune. My friend has 2003 with same mods as u but he has Cams (HKS 272,264) and hes putting down around 330tq/330hp to the wheel .. I think max TQ at around 3 or 3.5Krpm something like that.

yeah cbrd i went up there and the shop was awsome ... i met chad he seams to be a really cool guy and knows his stuff ...... the kind of driving i do is this car is going to be a daily driver ... track once in a wile to have some fun but mostly drive around in and some occasional high way pulls with people messin around .... i think i might go the turbo way with the 02 housing but if i do that and the cams i think that would put me at a pretty good number on the dyno.....

hello,

my suggestion, was for bolt bits...

an o2 housing, and if youre in the vacinity doing work, it would be good to add a ported manifold, or in some cases a tubular...

my other suggestion was a set of cams such as GSC s1 style...

other options would be to upgrade the wheels in the evo 8 turbo... which we can have done...

cheers

Chad, do you guys do any porting of intake/exhaust manifolds? If so, shoot me a pm or I'll talk to you at the Open House. I'm sure you'll be busy as ****.

Paradigm handles our intake manifolds, and they do a fantastic job. ive considered getting a core for a swap......

and, for the exhaust manifold .... we use the buschur ported stockers.
