It's the first announcement right on the front page, as I stated above. It starts with 4:11 info. You gotta click on that **** to read the whole thing.

Wow.

If it has been whining for over a year it may not be your transfer case.

Back on subject; some earlier poster stated that they spoke to Sheperd Racing today.

I was planning to give his shop a call tomorrow; I assumed that Sheperd Racing would be closed for Memorial Day.

Anyway, it seems that those bad transfer cases may have a cheaper alternative instead of total replacement .

1. Its an 05 so a new TC with ACD would run me 3.5k
2. Shep told me it was bad Ring and Pinion
3. Re-built both for the win
4. Shepard Trans has the BEST customer service I've ever dealt with. Especially
since I talked to him all the time.

Any other questions, even though most of them should be answered by now, feel free to PM me.

Someone forgot to put insurance on my trans and UPS broke my bell housing so I got one of those aswell.

Shepard Trans is the way to go I would like to thank him for all his help and patience.. He made me wait an extra few weeks on the low waiting for a shipment of Ring and Pinions so in turn he could save me a couple thousand dollars in which he didn't have to BUT he did! He answered all my questions in a timely fashion and treated me like I was his only customer in years! (which is not the case) He could have sent me a new TC and re-built my trans and left me with a bill of 5k BUT he did not. He has made my year I doubt anything will top this because here I am with 2k left over for some GO FAST parts!

The TC/Trans feels amazing even though I'm still scared to put it in 5th because it used to grind forever I got used to grannying it in.. but no more worries!

I advise anyone who needs any TC/Trans work to go to Shep and only Shep.

Big thanks again to Shepard Trans and to "The Shop" and Muke for giving me a great deal and taking care of my car and washing it to make sure I got her back like new.

Do it right or do it twice!

Shep is DA MAN

Thanks for using The Shop - they do it right !

the real question we should be asking is "is this ring and pinion of the same quality or better then the factory one"

I'm pretty sure this was taken into account when producing the new ring and pinion, question is, how long will it last?

it's a good develeopment either way, too bad i just payed 3,500 for a new stage 2 t-case 2 weeks ago

It's definitely a good news, especially since mine has started making noise 2 weeks ago

This is for the rebuild. If you purchase a full new TC, it's more expensive

I believe Shep has a lot of work with Evos...

Just had john upgrade my t-case as well, he was telling me about the R/P gears that he was planning on using for a rebuild, but they werent fully tested yet. This was a few months ago, so its looks like they are ready. This is good news, as the new t-cases are expen$ive. Shepard rules, plain and simple.

There isnt a lot of information on the website about the new way of rebuilding the transfer cases. If anyone has any firsthand knowledge or has talked to Shep recently that would be great.

I would like to know who is making the ring and pinions and how much cheaper the process will be.

Thats only for a rebuild. They take your "good" TC and build that up.

That's correct. Plus the ACD t-case is more expensive then the non-acd t-cases
