I thought that floor/lift/shelf looked familiar...

I was there when these pics were taken!

An update regarding the TC
Mine is at Shep nom and I,m still waiting for a feedback from him.

However, I've opened the TCase which was whining. Nothing was broken inside. It seems that some new shims can fix the whinning issue. (mine was not whinning like crazy yet)

It is an opinion correct. BUT everytime I tried to get in contact with TRE I could not and every time I called Shep HE talked to me personally. I'm sure TRE does a great job and at the time of the posting I was so excited/relieved at what a great job Shep did I did not think of anyone else. So I'll retract the statement but still have more love for Shep and the work he has done for me so I'm sorry if I might be a little biased.

FYI, it cost me the price of the rebuild ($1095 for the stage 2 with LSD) + new pinion & gear (~$1000).
The lead time to get some pinion & gear may be long (8 weeks in my case). the difference between a new stage 2 Tcase and a rebuild one with new pinion & gear is $400. Not worth 10 weeks without the evo IMHO

If thats the case it is definately not worth it. I wonder if its any cheaper for the guys that have ACD.

I don't really know if the pinion / gear in a new Tcase are as strong as the one for a rebuild. If you read TRE website, you see that they replace powder iron with forge steel. It might be the case with new Shep's pinion/gear as well.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. I might as well spend the money on a brand new stage 2 with LSD and keep my t-case and sell it FWIW...or just have it on hand in case I ever need a t-case to get around.

My Tcase & trans just got back from Shep this week.

Except for the expanding foam used for packing leaking on everything and having to clean a hundred little pieces out of every nooks and cranies. And having the o-ring which goes between the tcase & trans crushed from being UNDER the tcase while being shipped I guess everything looks good.

my mechanic should have it together tonight sometime, I'll have a driving impression soon after. I went for the stage 3 tcase w/quaife & REM treatment along with the trans upgrade/rebuild with REM process aswell.

I would think the ring and pinion is stronger on a new tcase then on a rebuild since the ring and pinion will be brand new. When they rebuild your tcase they change the spider gears to a forged one but the ring and pinion is the same. You would need a good rings and pinion to begin with before a rebuild can be done. Shep was the first one to be able to change the ring and pinion on evos that I know of and they were only able to do that recently.

I know it's been a while but has anyone w/ an ACD recently had their TC done by shep?

Was he able to rebuild it?

How much?

Will be looking into sending mine out in the very near future.

He did mine back in july or so. I don't think he (or anyone) can do any work with the actual ACD, but he can replace the ring and pinion. I supplied my own gears, but I'm ***uming they are the same.

Sorry didn't mean to confuse.......i'm not concerned about the ACD itself just wondering if anyone w/ an ACD TC had work done recently and if so how much did the work cost.

Where did you pick up the ring and pinion?

I'll be speaking w/ John Shepard soon but was just researching as they say on their site to call if you have an ACD TC
