JDMTIM, if you're seeing base wastegate pressure, then it's because you have the system hooked up wrong. Even if the previous hoses were the right ones and had both pills, that doesn't mean it was hooked up right.

Tell us what boost controller you're using (stock, ebc, mbc?), and then show us exactly how you hooked up every hose.

The BOV is not relevant to this problem, but that's a bad BOV to have.

Well, the long boost hose should be on the nipple towards the front bumper, and the intake hose should be on the nipple towards the firewall, but I honestly don't think it even matters.

You do have the hoses oriented proplery in terms of the turbo and WGA nipples. Does the long hose also have a pill in it near the end by the BCS? It should.

It does matter which port the lines correspond too.

I had them hooked up backwards before and it would only stock on WGA levels.

I found that the valve would open up from pressure on the backside of it.

However, I have a type S bov and have no problems with it. I am using a dejon tool stop leak kit with it though.

Interesting, I thought they were just connected together on the inside, which is why we're able to cap them off with a u-bend. If not, then that's his problem.

when i had the type rs on my car the jam nut came off also. and the screw managed to work itself out to the point that it made my diaphragm inside rip and i couldn't boost more than waste gate pressure.

That's about right. You're hitting 18psi per your gauge and tapering down. The normal range is 19psi tapering to 16psi, but most gauges are off one way or the other. You're at least in the normal range now.
