wastegate damage @17psi

I found this in a TSB, it says to not exceed 17psi directly to wastegate actuator. So people using a manual boost control set anything higher than this will eventually damage there diaphram right?

Good to know, I may try this tommorrow, better to be safe than sorry. I am sure it can handle more than 17psi though, Mitsu playin it safe.

sounds like mitsu playing it safe...I have never heard of an issue with this but it never hurts to check...

hrmmm arent stock cars running on 19psi? thats manifold pressure, how different is that from the pressure that goes to the diaphram of the wastegate?

because the stock solonoid goes on/off really fast to limit 17psi to wastegate and bleeds off the rest to intake. so yes stock boost is 19 but wastegate never sees that much.
