last night after watching "the Hulk" (terrible movie, very disappointed), i was heading back when i floored it to try and pass a yellow light. when my car is nearing redline, i heard a pop and what sounded like glass shattering and the car seemed to die... wouldnt go over 3grand (im guessing the ecu put the car into dummy fuel map). i pulled over and popped the hood, noticed that where the flex piping meets the metal IC piping near the airbox was disconnected, and proceeded to fix the problem. afterwards, the car started right up, and i went home. along the way i boosted it a few times to see if things were ok. everything seemed fine.

what im trying to figure out is what that sound of shatterring glass was. my only guess is that maybe it was detonation from the sudden rush of air after the IC piping disconnected ? please help, i might take it to mitsu to get the car looked at, but i wanted to hear what u guys thought first. thanks a lot.

one last thing, i have no CEL

 

It was probably the escaping boost pressure rattling the fins on the hood vent as it rushed by......thats my guess...have you looked for damage on the underside of the hood?
