stock head studs with 35r and meth??

Im doing a 35rkit and meth on my IX and I am not going to install headstuds right away. For one I dont want to pull the head off and two I am not so sure about doing it one by one. My car only has 20k on it and i think they will be ok for a while. Im not going to get tuned for more than 25-26 psi and I wont be driving it much anyways. Is there anybody running high boost with the stock head studs?

i highly dont recomend running any higher than 25psi with no head studs...spend the extra couple of bucks and have them do it one by one..its just as good as taking the head off...with arp studs you can be over 30 psi..
its really just a extra percaution.. you dont want you head seperating from the block...that wouldnt be fun...

25-26 isnt that high but I wouldnt do it on stock studs, I'd do the 1x1 method before I ran it on stock. The only thing I've ever seen is a little oil leak on the front pass side of the head to the block but it didnt even leak enought to go to the ground. But then again my co worker chris did the 1x1 method on his current car and was making 496whp without any problems. If you let the car cool down completely and do the 1x1 and then re torque them a few days later, I doubt you'll have a problem, def less of a chance then if you just run stock headbolts

+1 I let my car cool off for a full 24+ hours then installed my ARPs the 1x1 method.. Torqued them to 85 ft. lbs and SEVERAL thousand miles later finally got around to checking them and they were all still snug.. No problems when doing mine, just make sure to take your time and not get in a hurry it's really a pretty simple job to do..

Research the 1x1 method and you'll see it isn't the best option. For some it was ok, but for many it didn't work. The 3 people I know that had the 1x1 method (by different shops btw) all had problems.

x2, Running that much boost its like a gamble when your head will separate from your bottom end. Deffinately spend a couple hundred for the studs

I have had good luck with the 1X1 method. I have done 3 and haven't had an issue yet. Just don't forget to retorque them. Its not the correct way to do it, but you will be better off doing the 1X1 them just leaving the stockers in there.

It doesn't really matter how much boost, just how much torque the motor will generate. Greater torque means greater cylinder pressure, which increases the stress on the fasteners. If any detonation occurs, that places tremendous strain on the fasteners.

Just FYI

I'm still on stock head studs with lots of 25psi pulls, no problems to date (knock on wood) I have the studs and I am going to get them installed properly when the motor is built! I mean I wouldn't say there definetly needed but if you have them why not!

1x1 meth on my DSM for years, on my brothers DSM with 26-28psi for 100k miles... it works. I have the 1x1 on my EVO too... 33psi everyday!

Wow...really hit and miss with the 1 x 1 method. I'm a little disconcerted by doing the 1 x 1 method but don't want to pull the head either....so I'll probably do it.

There's got to be something people are doing to get the mixed response for the 1 x 1 method...what are the guys that are getting good results doing (or not doing) to not have any problems?

OH...and I'd go with the studs for anything over 22-23 psi.
