I think I broke my front Diff???

I have an 04 EVO VIII, I think I broke the front diff, It started to bind when I turn into parking spots, but seems to drive ok down the road. but today it started to pop really loud when turning...
How can I find out if its the front diff???
thanks for any help

Sounds like it to me! Probably no fluid in there. That is how a friend described his, when the dealership replaced his TC, but forgot to put fluid back in. Not sure if it was the front,or rear diff they replaced, or the transfer case.

It might be your front axles/ cv joints. That would be more likely, I havent heard of too many Evo's breaking front diff's, especially open diffs.

It could be your front axle(s)?....check to make sure your rubber boots are not cracked and still holding grease....these will bind and make a clunkity noise when they are shot.....

If he had the T/F case replaced, then it was the center diff. The front diff is in the transmission housing.

I am not sure which one, but he said it was binding/jerking horribly.

Actually the 03-04 with open diffs are known to be weaker than the RS or evos with ACD that have a front diff. Many have been broken who drag there car, but it is unlikely unless you beat on your car. The clicking the OP describes sounds more like a broken CV boot with no grease left in it. But if it is physically hard to turn and jerks the car it is most like something in the TC or front diff.
