I was told and have read thats the 6-speed mr has smaller gears and less fluid in the transmission, and that it uses the same transmission box as my 5-speed. So what I am trying to say is the gear will be easier to break and will heat up faster, with the 6-speed.

Use an exact equivalent or super diaqueen ONLY.
How about some real-world data?

A mix of redline MT-90 and Redline shockproof heavy decreased my 6spd internal temps 10c

That said, I am replacing my 6spd as soon as I can find a good deal on a 5spd.

Coming from you razor, I believe it. Considering your the first one to grenade that 4th gear lol. Have you been running with those fluids for a while? I remember people flaming on the fluid thread about the redline cocktail. If you think its helping, Im gonna make the switch.

I wouldnt see running straight shockproof though. 2 quarts MT-90 and 1 quart heavy shockproof has always been the shep/tre recomended dosage.

Hmmm. May have to investigate. Then again, a mere 6 posts up TRE recommends the OEM fluid.

Bleh, I've got 5 speed money saved away...

Cool

Mr is a bettter car over all. I love my 6 speed. but your taking a risk doing track days. I would only use oem fluid. I dont know how hard razor pushes his car on the track.

Correct.

As a matter of fact, very few parts are the same between the two transmissions.
