MBC vs EBC...

Ok...I asked a couple of great vendors here about which is better when I first started modding and a MBC was the best choice...and thats great...but now I would like to control boost from inside the car...I know you can have your MBC in the car but having a digital read out that reads the exact psi you want is such a great convenience factor.. of course and the boost gauge to keep everything in check...is there an EBC out there that could do as good as an MBC?...I am guessing accuracy is the problem with EBCs.

Accuracy really isnt the problem, its the price as compared to MBC.

Unless you're gonna constantly change your boost and want to push all the buttons... MBC is fine..

I agree, accuracy is not the problem. Cost of one vs. the other is. Is the extra functionality of a EBC really worth it? Guess it all depends on the application.

My AVC-R is far superior to the MBC I had before. If you take the time to read the instructions and adjust everything correctly on set-up. It is a set and forget system. Plus, I can adjust boost easily from inside my car, have 2 different boost settings, gear dependant boost, etc. I thought it was going to be a PITA, but it was easy.

Well installation will not be a problem for me...I will be switching maps frequently..and I think the EBC functionality is worth it for me ...it will be great also for valet parking or when its time for inspection so people will not be able to boost it......any other downsides to EBC?...other than price and installation

have the greddy profectBspecII which has lo+high settings to do this, just have to play around w/ the settings to tune the EBC to your liking.

I have also been reading and actually witnessed a Greddy pb2 maintain nice stable boost. Some of the ebc can be manipulated or setup to maintain 21 psi to readline without the use of a high pressure wg actuator. It seems like the price tag is worth it if it offers that type of functionality.
