Question Boost Leak Test Question???

I finally got around to doing my book leak test. And HOLY $H** i found two huge leaks from the licp. My licp was slightly damaged durring shipping https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=267523. (strightened it out as much as possible)Tightened the clamps and fixed the leaks.

When I first pressurised the lines I could only reach 5 psi. As soon as the leaks were fixed i was able to pressurise up to 25 psi.(stopped at 25 because im only going to run 23-24psi)

Im doing the test from the turbo compressor with every thing hooked up other then the intake. As soon as i let off on the air it slowly leaks back down.

So my question is if the slow leak is normal or am i suppose to pump up to my psi goal and is it suppose to hold the 24 psi solid until i let the air out?

Like i said the leak is real slow hence the boost gauge drops slowly.

I did search this topic before asking and never came across an answer.

Thanks guys

AS far as I know, you will leak a little through your MBC or stock BCS. And also, out of the valve cover.

you should plug your little VC outlet with something and I never had any slow leaks at all when everything was working properly, if MBC leak is normal then clamp the lines off so your sure thats what the leak really is

if its not whining from any couplers or the throttle body, you should be good. air will leak out of other parts though as mentioned above

Sorry if I enter in this thread, but it's IT... ;-)

I tested leaks closing the compressor intake with a cap...

is it normal that, in this way, I have a big leak ( no pressure built ) through the turbo oil discharge ?
