question

hey guyz do i have to upgrade my stock valvetrain for the hks 272 cams or my stock valvetrain is gud enough to handle these cams?

As long as you don't plan on raising your rev limit I think your OK. If you plan on going to 8K all the time then I would say yes, you need to upgrade.

+1, I and other members have been running 272's on the stock valvetrain with no problems.

hey ,thanx for the update ..ill be goin for the hks 272 wid the stock valve train .
another question .. wat if i decide to go wid hks 280 cams can i use my stock valves and just change the springs and the retainers?

In most cases, guys running the HKS 280's just use the stock valves, springs and retainers. Lift on the 280's and 272's is identical(10.8mm intake/10.2mm exhaust). No need to change valves.

thanx ,u mean i shud stay wid stock valves and change the springs and retainers for 280s?and for 272 i can stay wid every thing stock

You don't need an upgraded head for any of the cams you listed. I have stock head on my car with 75K miles, and lots of runs with 272's, and 280's. You will be fine.

no im talking about upgrading valve train wid 280s .
wat do i have to upgrade wid 280s?
or can i run every thing stock wid 280s .wat i heard is that we have to upgrade our springs and retainers but upgrading the valves is not neccecary .
is this true?
i just recieved my jam 2.3l stage 3 short block so i wont be reving past 7800

I know people that use the HKS 280's with stock valve train and their cars are running fine. My understanding is if you go with something like the Tomei 280's that have 11.5 lift, then you need to replace the valve springs and retainers.

thanx alot ,doo post us the results when ull fully tune ur car .as mine will take a bit of time cause its summer here and very hot and also waiting for my cams to arrive .
