Question Location of Tranny Bolts??

Hey, I have about 8 bolts in my hand, ..err around, that fits for the tranny....noticing that they aren't all the same length and even one of them the thread starts a little higher than the other ...

anyone have some type of lenght charge or something to kno exactly where each bolt goes back in tranny.....or if it doesn't matter as long as its torqued to spec??

I did have the car serviced a month back so for all i know they just threw bolts in there...but just curious as to know where the bolts go, its about 5 long ones 2 real short ones.

I know 3 longs go on driver side, i belive one of them go threw the starter, and 2 real short ones connects tranny to cover, and i also have another 14 i belive goes on passenger side threw the tranny, the "hidden" bolt, but they are all diff lenghts, wondering if it matters on the reinstall.

sry for long post

Hopefully this will help

It looks like the "hidden" one has threads the entire length of the bolt.

8 bolts?

for the tranny there should only be 6 holding it to the block
5 bolts require a 14mm socket, and one requires a 10mm.

the shortest bolt (of the tranny bolts) is the hidden one behind the transfer case. the next one is near where the starter goes (this is the longest one if i remember correctly). next is the 10mm bolt which only holds the sheet metal cover right above the starter. then there are 2 on top of the tranny which also have wire brackets with them (both the same length). the last one is down just above the speed sensor, beside the shifter cable bracket (i think this one is either another longer one, but i could have that backwards).

there are two other 14mm bolts that hold the flywheel cover on under the engine (along with two 10mm bolts). not sure if those are the two extra short bolts you apparently have... they are very very short bolts.

hmm, yea, i belive the two real real short 14mm's hold the cover, i have a 14 that looks like it went on the passenger side to go threw the tranny, not sure about the one above the starter, is this one, one of th elonger brass screws?? i have about 5 long brass screws i kno 3 go on driver side top of tranny, and i think one went threw the starter...

its frustrating, i tried puttin gall screws bakc where they came from, but the tranny took so long to come off i forgot where they went
