Help! Missfire, bov flutter, or something else?

Well i just got the ride back from the shop. I switched out the intake for an open filter one (Injen w/uicp), Forge RS bov, Sun auto hyperforce, and swapped out the spark plugs w/some 1step colder ones. So tonight after i got off work, i decided to test it out to see if everything is intact, after the 3rd pull from 3 to 4th, i slowed down hit the light and started to go 20mph, thats when the car started to have a hard time boosting. Right when i started to try and gas it and hit a little boost, the car would stutter. My friend was saying it sounds like missfire. Another issue is i've been having the "Random missfire" code on since i got the cams. Could that be the issue?

Any thoughts? The Forge RS was set to about the middle. Would cranking it all the way to stiff help me out? I was also thinking it was the ic pipings, but they were still connected. I'm a little worried so i've stayed off boost. Cranked the Forge RS to be stiffer then called it a day, it seemed to run better, but in 5th gear it started doing the same thing. So...what do you guys think?

Yeah i'm thinking plugs as well. Another thing is i'm still tuned for my previous intake and Bov setup, haven't changed that up yet. So .26 or .28 gapped be better? Not sure what they're gapped at right now.

If you're tuned for no intake, then you should not have put on the new intake. If you were tuned for just a different open element intake, then it's not a big deal. You don't get tuned for BOVs. Tightening the Forge RS all the way does not make any sense at all - that would not solve anything here.

It sounds like the plugs. When you say you went one step colder, what EXACTLY do you mean? What exact plugs did you put in (brand and part #)? How do you not know where they are gapped? Did the shop put them in? .026 should work well...

Ngk BPR8ES. The shopped put everything on along w/the plugs. I was tuned for a Works drop in but recently did the switch. I don't believe the intake can have that much of a factor because my buddy has the exact same intake but isn't tuned for it yet.

Update. Bov popped off slightly. It was even put on backwards. Guess the Forge doesn't fit to well w/the Injen kit. I was told to cut the piping a little bit shorter for clearance for my Forge bov. Plugs were gapped at .25.

Got another issue now, licp blew off on me while testing the ride, guess the clamps Nisei sent w/the 1018 weren't t-bolts. Any suggestions? Friend said to just get t-bolt clamps for all the intercooler pipes. Also heard that Forge makes some pretty strong clamps. Any info on those? Looking to cure my car of any issues before i run the track later in the month.

Be more precise and descriptive in your posts! What unit of measure are you going by when you state that your plugs are gapped at .25? Is that American or Metric? Do you mean .025 inches? Because, .25 inches is a way large plug gap. Did you measure the gap with a feeler gauge, or are you relying on the hearsay of the shop where you got your car serviced?

The LICP hose clamp probably just needed to be tightened a bit more. I have used the clamps supplied by Nissei up to 25#. Mine blew off when I first installed the IC, but I just retightened them and they've held fine ever since. However, if you feel the need to upgrade to a better product then get some 2.5" T-Bolt clamps. Don't overtighten as you run the risk of crushing the alumium pipe.

You oughta get your car retuned after the Injen intake installation. It may be running a bit leaner and that could be a problem if you want to turn up the boost at the track. At least, do a Datalog to confirm safe AFR's and have the fuel table tweaked accordingly. PM Mike at Forge and ask him how to setup your new RS DV with respect to spring selection and adjustment to achieve best driveability.

Oops yeah meant .025. All my parts were installed there so i trust them. Never had any issues until now w/the Bov put on backwards.

As for the tune, i just got custom road tuned over the weekend for everything. So its all spot on, it just the clamps popped off the licp and my tuner said to get some better clamps, he suggested the Forge clamps.
