First of all our stock to 1000hp estimate is in the low 60's not 100K

Second,
You are comparing apples to oranges. Post both estimates up and you will see the difference in price. You make is sound like we are making 30K more in profit.

While working at my shop and buying all the parts I spent around 15k. Plus then you have a "custom kit" instead of a name brand kit

and I am talking about a GT42R 1000hp build. based on your sig you have a 30R build.

Just pick out some of hte big components in a gt42R build without raw material and you are going to go way over 15K.

Thank you for the support. I dont think people understand how much time and work goes into a 1000hp 4cyl car.

If you know what you are doing, it doesn't take much to reach 1000whp. Heres all the ingredients for the recipe (this is for a proven and reliable dragster):

-Fully built block (welded and re-enforced) $4000
-fully ported race head with cams $3000
-GT42R+manifold+downpipe $3000
-built tranny and drivetrain (including triple plate clutch) $5000
-Full race FMIC $1000
-AEM standalone $1000
-Killer tuning $500
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total---> $17,500.00

Its not rocket science. If you feel confident in installing these items, then go for it. People forget that countless 4G63 powered 1000+whp AWD dsms have been around for more than a decade.

The rocket science is to make it past more than 1 1/4mile and not be a complete money pit.

This isn't exactly rocket science either. Of course the car will chew through many a drivetrain part, this is just an expected maintenance cost of such a machine =)

Seen it to many times before IMO the likelyhood of someone without top level experiance being sucsessfully are only around 25% if you are lucky.

Good pick. Been keeping on the up n up with this kit and considering the size of the turbo as a variable, I'd say that this would be the best kit there is in overall features, what is supplied and quality.

When it comes down to the work horse of the groupd, BR's turbo kit with the cast iron manifold is proven to make awesome horsepower, is half the price and BR's track record speaks for itself. They are all at the top of the Evo game....so any which way you go you'll be fully supported by plenty of research, tuning and proven performance. Best of luck

Not trying to argue but shouldn't there be a lot of other parts added as well. Like intake mani, injectors, fuel system, ignition, custom ic piping, radiator, axels and tons more? That $17,500 total is a low number if your going to do it right.

Full Race all the way. There the only ones that use true twin scroll manifolds. There kits are very promising and Geoff is about to show us what his kits can do in a few weeks. The Full-Race will make the most power and spool the fastest and have the best throttle response. So if your gonna do it Full-Race all the way.

Also yes its not rocket science to build a 1000hp evo. You will spend between 20-30k and find a awesome tuner and you will be set.

We have had a Twin Scroll T4 manifold available for almost 3 years, and it will fit up to a GT45 turbocharger behind the factory radiator. Back in the day when we did our initial testing of the divided/twin scroll set-up the same people who said there were no performance benefits to a twin scroll turbine are the same people who praise them today. They are just a bit behind the ball. We loved the results and have been producing them ever since.

Our divided T4 manifold has yielded great results since it's introduction and has an impeccable performance record, along with every single manifold that we have built. A couple notables are Al Friedmans's EVO 8 that has run a best of 9.7@155, Norris Designs EVO that has 9.2@160 on drag radials, and Javier Ortega's full weight EVO that has gone 10.1@140something. All in all I am pretty confident in saying that there are more Shearer Fab EVO t4 headers gracing this earth than every other manufacturer put together.

HAHAHAHA

Aside from the fact that almost all of your prices were about $3-4k too low ($20-21k is more like it), here is the short list of what you forgot:
- axles
- driveshaft
- IC piping
- intake manifold & throttle body
- exhaust
- suspension
- roll cage
- seat
- harness
- tires
- wheels
- fuel system
- The other half of the AEM (yeah, $1000 does not buy everything you need to tune for 1000hp)
- The rest of the tune. If you think you can get a 1000hp tune that won't blow up for $500 ... you're nuts.

That's about $12-15,000 MORE right there and you haven't even installed it yet! Plus I'm sure I forgot at least a couple of things. So that would be about $35k just in raw parts if you were conservative in your build.
